Coinstar Kiosks Feature Olsen Twins Sweepstakes

Warner Bros. Pictures has joined forces with supermarket coin changing machine company Coinstar, Inc. to promote the spring release of the latest Olsen Twins movie, New York Minute.

The two are running a sweepstakes to get tweens to cash in their change and try for a chance to win a trip to New York City.

From now through May 30, customers who process at least $10 worth of change at Coinstar Center kiosks in participating supermarkets will get their cash plus a sweeps entry to win the grand-prize of a New York Minute-themed trip for four to New York City, including a $1,000 shopping spree, Broadway tickets and a city tour. The movie opens May 7.

Joint marketing efforts include promotional signage installed on Coinstar Centers; national cable television on MTV, ABC Family and Nickelodeon; radio spots in top markets and print and online advertising with Teen People and Seventeen. Additionally, more than 200 U.S. retail chains will build upon the partnership with their own promotional efforts.

In addition to the grand prize, approximately 3,500 winners will each receive Mary-Kate and Ashley products or movie memorabilia such as gift packs, CD soundtracks, hats, T-shirts and posters.

“Coinstar’s high traffic visibility in more than 10,000 U.S. supermarkets, combined with their customer base of teens and parents make this a unique opportunity for Warner Bros. to provide added value to our New York Minute movie experience,” said Erin Corbett, SVP-national promotions, Warner Bros. Pictures.
