Budweiser Makes its Own Line of BBQ Sauces

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Anheuser-Busch is set to bow a new line of Budweiser barbeque sauces that it hopes will pair well with sipping a few cold beers this summer.

The line includes a baste, two barbecue sauces and a wing sauce. Via a licensing deal, Vita Food Products, Inc. will create and distribute the sauces in time to hit stores by Independence Day.

Marketing will include sampling in on-and-off premise following the July launch as well as a presence at well-known barbeque and grilling events taking place across the country, Randall Blackford, director of Budweiser marketing, Anheuser-Busch, said.

One of the key ingredients in the sauces, is, of course, Budweiser beer. The sauce recipes were created by a team of chefs led by Brent Wertz, the executive chef at Anheuser-Busch’s Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, VA, along with help from the company’s brewmasters.

The sauces will be available at grocery, gourmet and convenience stores as well as casual dining chains, Anheuser-Busch said.
