Brookstone, Inc. expects to report a net loss of 76 cents per share for the first quarter, an improvement over as 78 per share last year.
The cataloger and retailer reported direct sales of $10.1 million for the quarter ended May 3, down from $10.3 million for the same period last year.
The Nashua, NH firm posted total sales to $61 million for the quarter, up 7.7% from $56.6 million last year.
“I am pleased with our strong first quarter sales results, particularly in light of the difficult retail environment,” said CEO Michael Anthony in a statement.
