As marketing technology earns its place as a key component in marketing, the rise of marketing technologists is pacing close behind.

76% of senior-level marketers in the U.S. have a person on their team responsible for leading marketing technology, the study found.

A new study has found the every marketer surveyed (100%) reported that data and analytics would play a vital role in the near term. As for the role of chief marketing technologist, 66% of marketing teams already have one in place and another 26% plan to fill the role within a year.

The strategy behind the in-depth survey was to find out whether marketers are ready for the massive technology shift that is underway and transforming marketing departments across the globe.

The study from DataXu and titled, Modernizing the Mix: Transforming Marketing Through Technology and Analytics, surveyed 532 marketers across the U.S., the UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy.
