The 2004 Zippo Hot Tour is setting out to find indie modern or punk rock acts with an eight-city competition launching April 1.
The Hot Tour competition will run through the end of 2004 and consists of a three-part elimination process:
-
Round one (June 15—August 15), music fans can visit www.zippohottour.com to listen/download music, see photos of the qualifying artists and cast votes.
-
Round two will be an eight-week music tour featuring live performances by Round One winners in their respective markets. Audiences will receive voting cards.
-
Round three voting will take place online and will be open to a national audience. The grand prizewinner will be determined by the total number of online votes received during the final round of the competition.
Bands can visit the Zippo Hot Tour Web site and enter for a chance to compete to win a prize package, which includes a New York showcase for major label executives and an assortment of equipment from Nemesis, Randall Amplifiers, Tama Drums, Vinci Strings and Washburn Guitars.
