The promotional marketing agency is out to get its next “big” client during the Final Four weekend and is tapping fans and passersby to find it. The participant that delivers a “legitimate, high revenue producing client” gets $100,000, happy hour at a trendy bar and use of the Zipatoni limo, the agency said.
“Sometimes it’s not what you know, but who you know,” said Jon Maurice, Zipatoni’s creative director who co-developed the promotion with creative director Chris Aguirre, in a statement. “We’re just opening up the opportunity to the general population to become brand ambassadors for Zipatoni, and having a little creative fun during the biggest sporting event to hit St. Louis in years.”
A guerrilla marketing effort, “You’re Hired”, will center on a flame-adorned, vintage Cadillac limo ejecting bright orange ping-pong balls that carry the Web address, Zipatoni.com/yourehired. The car will be driving around on Saturday during the Final Four and on Monday the day of the championship game. And a mobile trailer will carry a board touting the promotion.
At the Web site, Zipatoni tantalizes prospects with: “Let’s see if you’ve got the chops, connections and ingenuity to land Zipatoni our next big client” and lays out the rules of the promotion.
“We just couldn’t resist doing something big with this right in our backyard,” said Zipatoni spokesperson Amy Burger.
