The Yankee Candle Co. Inc. reported net income of $10.8 million for he first quarter, up 3% from $10.5 million last year.
The giftware direct marketer and retailer reported total sales for the first quarter ended Apr. 2 were $119.3 million, up 12% over $106.5 million last year.
The South Deerfield, MA firm reported a 2% increase in mail order sales.
“Yankee recorded another quarter of strong and record results, said CEO Craig W. Rydin in a statement. “Both our retail and wholesale segments exceeded our sales targets.”
