Will Amazon’s Dash Button Change CPG Marketing?

Amazon’s new Dash Button allows Amazon Prime members to easily and quickly reorder products they use regularly with the touch of a button.

Amazon Dash ButtonThe Dash Button gets programmed to order, say Tide laundry detergent or Maxwell House coffee. It can then be attached to the washing machine with reusable adhesive or hung near the coffee brewer. When the bottle of Tide or coffee runs low, a push of the button places an order, which arrives within days. The same goes for toilet paper, coffee and bottles of water or other favorite household items.

Some of the brands participating include Maxwell House, Glad, Izzie, Tide, Cottonelle, Bounty and Smart Water. What does it all mean for CPG Marketing?
