Visa Sweeps Promises $100K Shopping Spree to 10 Winners

This holiday, Visa is introducing Scrooge to its “Chief Shopping Officer” as it gears up to give away a $1 million to 10 of its card holders.

Visa USA has announced the launch of its $100K Holiday from Visa campaign, an integrated national promotion that gives consumers the chance to get what they want over the holidays. When Visa cardholders use their card from Nov. 1 to Dec. 31, they are automatically entered for a chance to win one of 10 grand prizes valued at $100,000, currency to spend however they choose.

The promotion is supported by an integrated marketing campaign featuring holiday curmudgeon, Ebenezer Scrooge. As Scrooge performs “selfish” acts of charity, he shows consumers that even penny-pinchers can be motivated to use the Visa card for a chance to win $100,000.

“We want to reward cardholders for using their Visa card for their holiday purchases….the more they use their card, the more chances they get,” said Kellie Krug, senior VP-marketing communications, Visa USA.

The campaign includes P-O-P and statement inserts, as well as a microsite Visa.com/100k featuring an instant-win game that gives consumers a chance to win over $25,000 in additional prizes, including a $1,000 Visa Simon Gift card.

The site also features holiday shopping tips from Visa’s Chief Shopping Officer, Jaye Hersh. Hersh, a celebrity shopping expert and owner of L.A.-based Intuition will provide advice on topics from how to budget and manage stress levels, to offering tips on finding the best last-minute gifts.”
