Twitter Makes it Easier to “Buy Now”and Sell via a Tweet

Posted on by Patty Odell

It’s about time! Twitter is finally ready to make it easier for consumers to make purchases on the social network and for merchants to sell products or services directly within a Tweet via Buy Now, according to the New York Times.

Through new partnerships it is integrating Buy Now with platforms that power e-commerce sites for merchants of all sizes, including Bigcommerce, Demandware, and Shopify, and enabling new retailers and brands such as Best Buy, Adidas and PacSun.

“This is an early step in our building functionality into Twitter to make shopping from mobile devices convenient and easy, hopefully even fun. Users will get access to offers and merchandise they can’t get anywhere else and can act on them right in the Twitter apps for Android and iOS; sellers will gain a new way to turn the direct relationship they build with their followers into sales,” a Twitter Blog post read.
