A shakeup at U.S. promotional marketing agency the Marketing Store has resulted in the departure of two key executives, Promo Xtra has learned.
The management moves coincided with the agency winning McDonald’s worldwide promotional packaging account, sources indicated. Both events took place in the past few weeks, but it’s unclear whether they’re connected.
Leaving the company are former Marketing Store CEO David Bender, and Clive Maclean, its president of North American Agency Services.
Marketing Store is based in Lombard, IL.
Marketing Store recently beat out three other agencies for the global assignment to guide all of McDonald’s promotional packaging, according to sources. It was former McDonald’s CMO Larry Light, who decided to consolidate all of the fast food chain’s promotional packaging with one agency. Light joined in May 2003 and retired at the end of 2005.
Marketing Store’s U.S. operation had held the domestic business for three years.
Bender, who reportedly left last month to pursue other interests, was promoted in March as Marketing Store’s CEO, coming from sister company HAVI Global Solutions, where he had the same title. He replaced Graham Kemp, who retired at the beginning of the year.
