Tom Curley has joined NewPage Corp. as its president and CEO. He will also take a seat on its board of directors.
Prior to joining NewPage, Curley served as president of the Rolls-Royce Energy business.
Curley began his career with General Electric Co. He later joined Caterpillar Inc., Cooper Cameron Corporation, and Rolls-Royce plc.
“Tom’s skills and energy combined with his significant general management experience within a broad spectrum of corporate environments and competitive markets, as well as demonstrated success in improving business financial performance, will help us continue to work back from last year’s challenges in the paper industry,” said Mark A. Suwyn, NewPage chairman, in a statement.
NewPage manufactures a variety of coated paper stocks, including coated freesheet, coated groundwood, supercalendered, newsprint and specialty papers. Its offerings are used for corporate collateral, commercial printing, magazines, catalogs, books, coupons, inserts, newspapers, packaging applications and direct mail advertising.
