TiVo Names Rogers President and CEO

Tom Rogers will replace Mike Ramsay as president and CEO on July 1, the digital recording service company TiVo said yesterday.

Ramsay, a co-founder of the company, announced in February he would step down to pursue other options. Rogers has been a member of TiVo’s board since 1999, and is a former chairman and CEO of Primedia, the parent company of PROMO.

“After pioneering the DVR category, TiVo is now uniquely positioned to help multi-channel carriers, networks and advertisers grow their businesses in an environment that presents new realities for how TV is watched,” Rogers said in a statement.

Rogers has led several initiatives for TiVo, including the deal that integrated TiVo’s recording technologies with Comcast’s cable boxes. He will be charged with integrating advertisements within TiVo’s recorded content, as well as product integration with other cable and satellite television providers, he said in a statement.
