Nighttime cable network The N will promote its teen series Degrassi: The Next Generation with VIP screenings of two new episodes in eight markets across the country.
“The Countdown to Degrassi” is an invitation-only event for 12- to 17-year-olds who register at www.countdowntodegrassi.com to attend. Each screening will feature a star from the show and a chance to win a walk-on part on the series. Mr. Youth, New York City, handles.
“We want this to be a subtle promotion that makes an authentic connection with teens,” said Angela Leaney, VP-brand communications for The N. “Mr. Youth was very helpful in finding venues that were not necessarily the most popular venues in the area to keep the screenings more underground.”
The first screening takes place May 22 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Other events will be held in Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Elizabeth, NJ and Anaheim, CA. The new season of Degrassi: The Next Generation premieres June 4.
