Study: Adults Will Spend Over 5% Of The Rest Of Their Lives Online

According to Cyber Dialogue, the currently online adult will spend 5.3% of the rest of his or her life online.

The analysis is part of the results of Cyber Dialogue’s American Internet User Survey. AIUS is the result of in-depth interviews with one thousand Internet users and one thousand non-users. The quarterly survey has been conducted for the past six years.

Other findings include: e-mail will take up between nine and ten months of a typical lifetime; men will spend more time online than women — 26.1 month v. 21 months; women will use email more than men — 9.9 months v. 8.8 months; and 18 to 29 year olds are the only adult age group that will spend more time online to non-work activities than to work itself.
