Office products retailing and direct marketing giant Staples Inc., Framingham, MA, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire three European office supply companies: Sigma Burowelt in Germany, Office Centre in the Netherlands, and Office Centre in Portugal.
Terms were not disclosed.
Under the agreement, Staples will acquire15 stores in Germany, 21 n the Netherlands and five in Portugal. No further information was available at deadline.
Staples currently runs catalog operations in the U.K. and Germany but no decision has yet been made about expanding them further, spokeswoman Sharon LaPierre told DIRECT Newsline.
