Source Marketing Buys Newport Design Group

Source Marketing has bought Newport Design Group to build out its digital and interactive-marketing capabilities.

As part of the purchase, Newport founder and creative director Neil Cameron joins Source as vice president of the digital and interactive division. Cameron begins at Westport, CT-based Source on Jan. 29. Terms of the purchase were not disclosed.

The addition of Newport is the latest piece of continued expansion at Source. Earlier this month, the agency hired two account staffers: Katie Schibler as senior account manager in the San Francisco office, and Laura Rusher as account manager in the Westport office.

Schibler will manage the San Francisco office and handle the Skyy Vodka account. She had been an account supervisor at TracyLocke, New York. Rusher had been an account supervisor at Euro RSCG 4D, Westport, CT, before joining Source.

Source ranked No. 39 in the 2006 PROMO 100 with estimated 2005 net revenues of $13.4 million, up an estimated 41% from 2003. Clients include Time Warner Cable, TVLand, Philips, SKYY Vodka, TIAA-CREF, Reckitt Benckiser and Pfizer.
