The Slim Jim sweeps plays off the meat snack’s surprise appearance in the sequel: The grand prize is a trip to Hollywood and a flute from the film (fans of the original “Pie” will understand the significance; decorum keeps us from explaining it). “We found the irreverence and crude comedy of the original ‘American Pie’ so appealing among our core consumers, we decided to serve young adults a spicy piece of the pie,” says brand manager Nicole Junod.
