Sharper Image Sales Off in November

Sharper Image Corp. reported that November sales fell 27% compared to the same month last year.

Same-store sales were off 27% for the month at the San Francisco-based retailer, while catalog sales were down 32% and Internet sales fell 29%.

The company reported sales of $36.9 million for the month, down from sales of $64.5 million for the same period in 2005.

Year-to-date total company sales were $359.4 million, compared to $459.2 million for the first 10 months of 2005, a decrease of 22%. Total store sales for those ten months were $206.5 million, off 26% from last year’s figure. Total catalog and direct marketing sales (including wholesale) were down 13% from last year to $111 million; total Internet sales for the first ten months of the year were $55.8 million, 21% off sales of $70.9 million for the same period in 2005.
