(Direct Newsline)—Strong fourth quarter Internet search advertising may reach record highs for Google and Microsoft. The now official recession apparently hasn’t slowed growth in this sector.
Search engine advertising activity increased sharply for Google, Microsoft and Yahoo during October and November, according to the Chicago-based market research firm AdGooroo.
Google’s first-page search advertising skyrocketed 55%. Microsoft experienced nearly a 30% increase, while Yahoo saw an 11% increase.
During the fourth quarter of 2007 Google experienced a slight decline in search advertising. The rates of growth during the fourth quarter of 2007 for Microsoft and Yahoo were 10.8% and 6.4% respectively.
