Santa Fe Tobacco Counts on Retailer of the Year Contest, Again

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Santa Fe Tobacco Co. has kicked off its an annual contest aimed at incenting retailers to increase sales of the brand’s natural tobacco products.

The tobacconist is awarding $40,000 in prizes, including a $5,000 grand prize, four first prizes of $2,500, four second prizes of $1,500 each and four third prizes of $1,000 each. This year, it has added a Sony boom box as a thank you to participating retailers in the hope of doubling the 500 entries it received last year.

The winners of the Natural American Spirit Retailer of the Year contest will be selected based on creative use of Natural American Spirit P-O-P materials in building displays or promotions that enhance sales. Finalists in last year’s contest went as far as using the materials, supplied by the company, as clothing.

To participate, a retailer must create and showcase a Natural American Spirit display or promotion by June 30 within the legal guidelines of the state in which it operates. Retailers in Massachusetts and Virginia cannot participate due to laws in those states. The company has been running the contest since 1998.

Natural American Spirit is sold by about 50,000 niche retailers nationwide.
