Reader’s Digest Association Inc. has name John Klingel to the newly created position of president of consumer magazine marketing.
He will relinquish his day-to-day responsibilities of managing the U.S. magazine circulation operations to work on integrating the Reiman Publications Inc. acquisition. He will also work to revitalize a magazine strategy on the international front.
In other news, Dawn Zier has been named vice president, circulation director of the U.S. Magazine Group. She had worked as director of circulation marketing. In addition to those duties her responsibilities will include the creative and operations side of the U.S. division.
In March, Pleasantville, NY-based Reader’s Digest said that it would acquire Reiman Publications for $760 million in cash. Reiman Publications publishes such magazines as Taste of Home, Country and Country Woman.
