J. C. Penney Co. Inc. reported October catalog sales of $237 million, off 21.8% from $303 million last year. The firm said online sales, which it groups with catalogs, continued to show strong gains but did not break out the results.
The Plano, TX firm posted comparable department store sales of $1.2 billion for the for the period ended Oct. 26, up 13.7% from $1.2 billion last year.
