Octagon has hired marketing executive Chris Monaco as vice president of the agency’s music and entertainment group.
Monaco brings more than 12 years of entertainment marketing experience including creating and implementing a variety of programs across music, television, motion pictures and on-line media, the agency said. The position took effect April 28.
He will be based in the Los Angeles office and will report to Jeff Ehrenkranz, senior vice president of Octagon Marketing.
“Adding Chris to our group strengthens our offering across all facets of entertainment,” Ehrenkranz said. “He has considerable experience with global consumer brands and expertise within the industry
While working for Allied Domecq PLC and Pernod Ricard USA as the director of entertainment marketing, Monaco developed both domestic and international entertainment strategies and branded content programs for a number of brands, including Stolichnaya, Kahlua, Sauza and Chivas.
Octagon’s current programs for some clients include ties to the soon to be released motion pictures Dreamwork’s Kung Fu Panda, opening June 6 and Warner Bros. Speed Racer, in theaters May 9. The agency is also developing integrated programs around sponsorships of Disney Theme Parks and the critically acclaimed music concert series Soundstage.
