Nike has named Dermott Cleary vice president of sport culture and category marketing.
In his new role, Cleary will oversee sport culture and category brand marketing for Nike. He reports to Joaquin Hidalgo, vice president of global brand management.
Cleary, a 12-year veteran of Nike, started with the company as UK marketing director. He worked in various marketing management roles, including director of brand initiatives for Europe and director of marketing for the Americas region. Cleary recently worked as global brand director for sports culture. In that job, he helped model Nike’s sport culture brand strategy, the company said.
Before joining Nike, Cleary worked in various marketing posts at SmithKline Beecham in the UK.
