NBC: is giving fans of The Apprentice a chance to sign up for exclusive text message alerts on their cell phones during tonight’s show. Fans can receive up to five text messages from the candidates tied to the broadcast. During the show, candidates will send out messages detailing their thoughts, strategies and decisions. The promotion is part of a new weekly service from NBC.com. To register, consumers log on to NBC.com/Apprentice or text the word “APP” to the shortcode “62288” (NBCTV). In tonight’s episode, teams must design billboards to launch the new face of Post Grape Nuts Trail Mix Crunch Cereal. The Apprentice airs at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.

MICROSOFT GAME STUDIOS: is teaming up with 4Kids Entertainment , Inc. to introduce a new children’s entertainment property about living Piñata animals, Viva Piñata. Viva Piñata will premiere as a TV series this fall on 4Kids TV on FOX. An Xbox 360 video game is expected to roll out for the holiday season, followed by licensed products in 2007.

MICROSOFT CORP.: and Epic Records have agreed to make available a full year of exclusive artist content and high-definition music video downloads free for all Xbox 360 players. Over the next year, Xbox 360 and Epic Records will showcase 12 up-and-coming artists through an “Artist of the Month” program via the Xbox Live service. Xbox Live members can enter monthly sweepstakes with a prize of gaming against musicians.
