THE CHILDREN’S ADVERTISING REVIEW UNIT: of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, Inc., has found that an ad for Activision Publishing Inc.’s video game Over the Hedge, is misleading to children. The ad, which aired on Nickelodeon, showed a mock newscast that CARU said could mislead children to think that it was editorial content as opposed to advertising. CARU recommended that all future advertising directed to children be clearly disclosed as such. The ad stopped running May 18 and Activision said it had no plans to run it further.
