HORIZON ORGANIC: will tour California supermarkets to distribute samples and educational info as families gear up for back-to-school lunchbox season. The Horizon Organic Van will visit 40 stores from through Sept. 1, sampling milk, yogurt and cheese. Universal Consulting Group, Boston, handles the tour for Broomfield, CO-based Horizon Organic.
MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL: has named Kenneth Gersh senior VP- business development for Major League Baseball Advanced Media, LP, the interactive media and Internet company of the league. Beginning in September, Gersh will be responsible for MLBAM’s New Media licensing business and business development for the company’s entertainment business. Gersh joins MLBAM from CBS Digital Media where he was VP-business development. He replaces George Kliavkoff who took up a new position at NBC Universal.
SPARKS: Philadelphia, hired Suzanne Wells as VP-events, a new post at the event-marketing agency. Wells had been director of business and agency development at George P. Johnson Co., Detroit, and earlier was strategic events manager at Coca-Cola Co. She joined Sparks on June 26.
