7-ELEVEN: Dallas, has bought White Hen Pantry, a Chicago-area chain with 206 convenience stores in Chicago and nearby Indiana and another 55 stores in Boston. The purchase brings 7-Eleven’s chain up to 7,100 stores throughout North America. 7-Eleven plans to adopt best practices from Lombard, IL-based White Hen. Both chains have concentrated recent marketing efforts on their fresh-food offerings: 7-Eleven tied in with The Apprentice and with 20th Century Fox’s X-Men: The Last Stand in May to launch its P’eatZZa sandwich (May PROMO). White Hen pitches its deli fare through tie-ins with the Chicago Cubs and other local efforts.

AMERICAN SUZIKI MOTOR CORP.: is the exclusive title sponsor of rock band Kutless’ upcoming concert road trip, the Hearts of the Innocent Tour Powered by Suzuki. The tour marks the motorcycle and automobile company’s first foray into the music industry. It kicks off Oct. 25 in Birmingham and runs through Nov. 19.

DOMINO’S PIZZA: is hoping customers will save some room for dessert. Starting Aug. 21 nationwide, customers will receive 10 oven-baked Brownie Squares with the purchase of any large pizza at regular price. Domino’s is backing its newest item with a mascot, Fudgems, a three-foot-tall brownie character. Fudgems will debut Aug. 17 with his very own Web site Fudgems.com. Consumers can play Fudgem games, hear Fudgems “brownie speak” and watch Fudgem dance. A Spanish language version will be available at Brownito.com. TV spots will support.
