Nautilus Group Recalls Some Bowflex Machines

The Nautilus Group is recalling two of its home fitness systems: Bowflex Power Pro and Bowflex Ultimate models. According to a published report, the recall affects 680,000 Bowflex Power Pro systems and 102,000 Bowflex Ultimate Fitness Machines.

All purchasers will receive a seat pin repair kit. Additionally, the Seattle-based firm will offer a new incline support bracket to any Bowflex Power Pro without Lat Tower built before Sept. 1, 2002.

Bowflex owners do not have to return the machines, but are advised not to use the benches until the replacement kits arrive. The company has accrued at $2 million reserve fund to meet the needs of the recall.

According to wire reports, the recall marks the second time this year the company has issued a recall on 420,000 units in January.

Bowflex markets its health and fitness products through a variety of direct and retail outlets, and is known for its direct response television commercials.
