Nautica International, Inc. has signed on as the “official apparel supplier” of U.S. Sailing, national governing body of the sport, to dress the 2004 U.S. Sailing Teams.
According to the sponsorship agreement, Nautica will outfit the 130 members of the U.S. Sailing Team, U.S. Disabled Sailing Team and U.S. Youth World Team with a complete dress and sportswear wardrobe for men and women.
Nautica replaces Land’s End, which had a one-year agreement with an option to renew. However, Land’s End, which was purchased last year by Sears, chose not to renew the contract.
“We’ve worked with Nautica in the past and everyone here is excited to have them back,” said Jack Gierhart, marketing manager for U.S. Sailing.
Penfield Marketing, Westport, CT, brokered the deal.
