My Virtual Model, Inc., which supplies technology for online shopping, has acquired rival EZsize.
The firms’ client rosters will be combined into an affiliate network.
My Virtual Model, Montreal, offers technology that allows shoppers to create a virtual model, or an online “mini-me.” It has been used successfully from companies ranging from Les Galleries Lafayette to Lands’ End.
The virtual model, three million of which now exist, allows shoppers to try the clothes on in different sizes, styles, colors and combinations, and even turn full circle.
“I am meant to be your reflection,” the models tells customers. “If you lie to me, I will lie to you.”
The combined client roster includes Lands’ End, Limited Too, Lane Bryant, Blair, Crossing Pointe, NutriSystem, Saks Fifth Avenue and Kenneth Cole.
My Virtual Founder Louise Guay said in a statement that incorrect fit and size are “the major cause of high return rates for both catalog and online retailers.”
