Mobile content developer and distributor SilverBirch Inc. has acquired Jambo Mobile Solutions, owner of a proprietary text messaging platform.

Jambo Mobile is a mobile marketing services provider whose client roster includes Adidas, Coca-Cola, Dell, Disney, Pfizer, Sony and others. Its proprietary Ignition tech platform delivers permission-based personal and relevant communications to target consumers through SMS and short code campaigns.

Toronto-based SilverBirch combines expertise in video game development and operations with mobile marketing, creating mobile communities that generate advertising, promotion and content sales revenue.

“I am very excited to be able to integrate mobile communication tools such as mobile alerts into our games, said SilverBirch CEO Derek van der Plaat in a release. “Mobile marketing is a highly effective tool for increasing game play and loyalty, and this will extend the scope of both subsidiaries.”
