Microsoft plans to buy Sybari Software, a company specializing in anti-spam and anti-virus software, for an undisclosed sum, according to wire service reports.
Terms were not disclosed.
This deal comes amid rumors that Microsoft is gearing up to release its first set of commercial anti-virus products.
Sybari, East Northport, NY, has about 10,000 clients. Its software scans businesses’ e-mail to try to ward off attacks.
