Meissner Signs Three Endorsement Deals

Figure skater Kimmie Meissner has signed endorsement deals with three brands: Subway, Visa USA and Under Armour.

Meissner, who won her first national title at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships last week, will appear in a national TV spot for Subway with its longtime spokesperson, Jared Fogle. The spot was filmed earlier this week.

Meissner appeared in a regional spot for Subway last year, when the owner of her local Subway shop in Delaware set up the shoot after Meissner’s Olympics performance in Torino. (Meissner stops at his shop each day on her way to practice.)

The 19-year-old skater also met Visa in Torino: Visa has sponsored the Olympics for 20 years, and often spotlights individual athletes in its Olympics marketing. Visa’s 2005-06 campaign tied to the Games in Torino included a Web site with blogs from a handful of athletes. (Meissner was not among them but her role model, Michelle Kwan, was.)
