Malibu Rum Contests Search for Best Holiday Costume
‘Tis the season: Instead of decorating a tree this year, people can decorate themselves and get the chance to win a year’s supply of electricity or a cruise via a series of events sponsored by Malibu Rum.
The first event takes place Thursday evening at the Mercury Bar on 9th Avenue in New York City. Holiday revelers can dress up in holiday-themed decorations and lights to win points for creativity and individuality. Contestants compete for the best holiday costume. Malibu Rum will pay the winner’s electric bill for one year, a prize valued at $1,200.
Comedian Kathy Griffin of Bravo’s My Life on the D-List and E!’s Fashion Police, will host the events.
The Light up Your Holidays promotion will hit several markets, including Boston, Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis and San Diego. Regional winners compete in a final contest in New York City for a grand prize Caribbean cruise with three friends.
