Kraft Foods will add the South Beach Diet moniker to some of its brands through a multi-year deal with South Beach Diet creator Dr. Arthur Agatston, a cardiologist.
Kraft will use the South Beach Diet trademark to flag products that fit the diet, which advocates eating more lean protein, fiber, whole grains, fruits and vegetables, and less saturated and trans fat. Kraft also will help fund nutrition research at the Agatston Research Institute.
The Northfield, IL-based food company would not give details on the nature of the deal, products involved, or timing of promotions.
