Hanover Direct Inc. will close its La Crosse, WI-based distribution center and merge the operations into its Roanoke, VA facility.
The distribution center, which serves Hanover’s Company Store brand, is being closed due to lack of sufficient warehouse space. The consolidation of the two facilities is expected to take up to 12 months. The Roanoke property encompasses 630,000 square feet.
Hanover will continue to operate its call center, as well as a manufacturing facility and several outlet stores out of Wisconsin.
Hanover is negotiating with members of Local 379 of The Union of Needletrades, Industrial and Textile Employees (UNITE) to discuss the impact the closing will have on its union employees.
