Gruppo, Levey & Co., a boutique investment bank in New York, has begun a strategic alliance with Jefferies & Co. Inc., giving Gruppo, Levey access to the public market, said Claire Gruppo, president of Gruppo, Levey.
Jefferies & Co. is the principal operating subsidiary of Jefferies Group Inc., an investment bank and institutional securities firm in New York.
The financial terms of the deal, which will be on a fee-split basis, were not released.
Gruppo, Levey counsels DM and retail clients on the sale of their business or division; or, if representing buyers, advises them on acquisition strategy. To do that, the firm worked only in the private financing area, including access to private equity investors, late-stage venture capitalists and the private debt markets, typically through banks and other lending institutions.
