Advertisers are expected to increase their spending in Europe by 1.7% this year to 150 billion euros ($163 billion), according to a new survey from advertising space buyer Interdeco OMD France.
Spending on direct marketing and other non-media promotions is forecast to rise 2.1%, according to the study.
For this year, Ad Barometer predicts Britain will be the most buoyant market in Europe with a rise of 2.3% in media campaign spending, followed by France with a 1.6% rise.
Ad Barometer, published twice a year and covering seven European countries, said its recovery forecast was based on economic fundamentals, but with uncertainties in political and economic climate an upturn would not happen immediately.
