The new flavors mark a growing trend in the beverage world with flavored ice drinks. In addition to its French Vanilla and Hazelnut choices, Dunkin’ Donuts is giving consumers the option to customize their favorite iced drink with new flavors including blueberry, coconut, raspberry, marshmallow, caramel toasted almond and cinnamon flavors. The iced coffee flavors are available for $1.49 for small; $1.79 for a medium and $1.99 for a large.
Coffee enthusiasts can sample the new flavors as part of a 30-city Ice Lounge sampling van tour. The tour, which runs through July 17, will make stops at concerts, outdoor events and at the beach at major cities including Chicago, Boston, New York City, Washington, D.C., Hartford, CT, Providence, RI, and Philadelphia. The tour schedule will be available online at
DunkinDonuts.com.
“A sampling tour is one of the more effective ways to reach the 18- to 24-year-old demographic,” said Chris Beijar, associate manager of sales and promotion for Dunkin’ Donuts.
Dunkin’ Donuts expects to distribute more than 200,000 samples via the Ice Lounge tour, Beijar said.
The tour will feature funky lounge furniture, video games and a live DJ. In addition to free samples of its iced beverages, Dunkin’ Donuts will also give away free music download cards, cup coolers, Mardi Gras beads and the Turbo Ice viral game on CD, Beijar said.
“The Dunkin’ Donuts Ice Lounge sampling van tour is bringing the brand directly to young adults, enabling them to experience Dunkin’ Donuts’ great iced beverages at the beach, park and wherever they are having fun,” said John Gilbert, VP-marketing for Dunkin’ Donuts in a statement.
