DreamWorks Animation Taps Globe for Worldwide Marketing Post

DreamWorks Animations has named Anne Globe as its new head of worldwide marketing and consumer promotion, effective immediately.

She replaces Terry Press, who is stepping down after nearly 13 years in the post. Press will continue working with the studio and take on other non-competitive projects in the industry, DreamWorks Animation said.

In her new role, Globe will head up the studio’s worldwide marketing efforts and continue to oversee its consumer products initiatives. In addition, she will continue to handle promotional partnerships, while working with distribution partner Paramount marketing DreamWorks Animation’s two film releases each year.

She previously worked as the studio’s head of worldwide consumer products and promotion, a title she assumed in 2005. In that role, she spearheaded a number of promotional partnerships for the studio, including expanding the studio’s long-term strategic partnerships with HP and AMD.

Over the last year, Globe helped form relationships with big-name brands, including McDonald’s, Activison, AOL and Kellogg’s DreamWorks Animation is kicking off a two-year deal with McDonald’s to promote its movies, starting with Shrek The Third, which opens May 18 in theaters (PROMO Xtra Aug. 2, 2005).

Under that deal, McDonald’s will distribute premiums and market DreamWorks films. In return, the studio will develop TV commercials using its characters.

Globe joined DreamWorks in 1996, when she oversaw promotion and merchandising campaigns for all DreamWorks SKG films.
