Discount retailer Dollar General is pinning a sweepstakes prize on the outcome of a NASCAR race.
On Friday, the chain broke its Win a Fast Million sweepstakes that will award a grand-prize trip to two NASCAR races on Nov. 17 and 18, and $10,000 in cash. If Dollar General’s car, No. 77, wins the NASCAR Busch series race that day, the winner gets an additional $1 million.
The grand prize includes a trip for two to Miami, and tickets and VIP passes to the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series Ford 300 Race on Nov. 17 and the NASCAR Nextel Series Ford 400 Race on Nov. 18. Both races will be held at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Ten first-prize winners get a $500 Dollar General gift card; 50 second-prize winners get a $100 gift card. Third prize, to 100 winners, is a hat and T-shirt autographed by driver Bobby Labonte or Kevin Harvick.
Consumers can enter online at DollarGeneral.com or in-store, starting June 12. Dollar General’s trackside exhibit at 29 NASCAR races will also collect entries. The sweeps runs through Oct. 13 via Promotion Group Central.
Meanwhile, Dollar General shareholders will meet on June 21 to vote on the chain’s sale to Kohlberg Kravis Roberts for $7.3 billion. The acquisition, announced in March, is expected to close in the third quarter, if approved by shareholders.
