Several hundred thousand consumers’ phone numbers may be removed from Pennsylvania’s do-not-call list after Sept. 15 when the file is updated.
The first batch registrations from when the list was introduced in 2002 will be expiring, according to the state attorney general’s office. State law requires consumers to re-register phone numbers every five years.
Telemarketers are required to purchase the list and use it to purge phone numbers from other lists to avoid calling registered consumers.
