Ford Taps American Idol’s Hicks for Promotion

Ford has tapped American Idol winner Taylor Hicks for its Drive On Us model year-end sales promotion. Fresh on the heels of his victory, Hicks will be featured in a new TV and radio ad that debuts today. Hicks sings and dances to a new song called "Possibilities."

Cartoon Network Signs Mattel Deal

Cartoon Network Enterprises has signed a multi-year, multi-platform deal that names toymaker Mattel the network's master toy licensee. The deal gives Mattel licensing rights to build toys for a number of Cartoon Network shows, including Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends, The Powerpuff Girls and Camp Lazlo.

The nation's largest provider of federal student loans SLM Corp., otherwise known as Sallie Mae, plans to acquire Upromise, Inc., which offers a loyalty-reward program that lets consumers earn money for college tuition when they buy participating brands.
