DIC Entertainment, a children’s entertainment company, has promoted Nancy Fowler to the newly created position of president, worldwide consumer products at DIC. The position went into effect Feb. 8.
In her new role, Fowler will expand her duties to include acquisitions of new children’s properties to develop DIC’s licensing and merchandising programs. In addition, Fowler will continue to oversee the development and implementation of licensing and merchandising programs for DIC’s high-profile entertainment and lifestyle children’s brands. Fowler will also oversee DIC’s global brand management team and the company’s network of licensees worldwide.
Fowler joined DIC in 2002 as senior VP-worldwide consumer products. In that time, Fowler managed the worldwide re-launch of the Strawberry Shortcake brand in 2003. This year, Fowler and her team are preparing for the launch of the new “tween” brand Trollz.
“Nancy’s creative instincts, industry expertise and management style are unsurpassed,” said Andy Heyward, chairman and CEO of DIC, in a statement. “She has been integral to the incredible growth and success of DIC over the past couple of years with the re-launch of Strawberry Shortcake and the upcoming rollout of Trollz. We are thrilled to have an executive of Nancy’s caliber who possesses talent, skill and integrity as a leading member of the DIC team.”
Prior to joining DIC, Fowler worked eight years at Viacom Consumer Products, the licensing division of Paramount Pictures Corp., departing as the company’s VP-worldwide licensing.
