Cendant Hotel Group has appointed Kevin Rupert as VP-marketing and strategy for Wyndham Worldwide. His position was effective Nov. 29.
In his new role, Rupert is responsible for developing strategies for the hotel chain, running its loyalty marketing program and its e-commerce, national branding and business-to-business marketing functions and providing marketing support to the chain’s nearly 100 hotels.
“Kevin Rupert brings an in-depth understanding of strategic positioning to the table,” said Peter Strebel, Wyndham Worldwide president, in a statement. “He knows how to identify market spaces that will best fit the brand’s products and services.”
Prior to joining Cendant, Rupert worked as VP of strategy and development for Cendant, where he oversaw and developed the hotel group’s strategic planning process. He also helped form the chain’s marketing strategy and developed positioning statements for each of the hotels brands. Rupert joined the company as senior director, brand strategy, in 2002.
Cendant Hotel Group operates the Wyndham, Super 8, Days Inn, Ramada, Travelodge, Howard Johnson, Knights Inn, Wingate Inn and AmeriHost brands.
