The Department of Justice has arrested a number of spammers and individuals who share movie files illegally, according to published reports.
Details of the spammer arrests are will be disclosed during a Department of Justice press conference on Thursday.
According to the Direct Marketing Association, several of these arrests are the result of Operation Slam Spam, a yearlong joint effort between the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the DMA. The DMA had invested $500,000 to aid the FBI and the Justice Department with its efforts.
The investigation has yielded more than 100 arrests, search warrants and other actions, such as subpoenas, according to one published report.
