AOL, GSN Team for Blackjack Promo
American Online is teaming up with GSN, the network for games, to design a blackjack Web page for AOL.com.
Under the partnership, the blackjack hub at AOL.com/Blackjack will offer free Blackjack game play and tips from pros. The site is expected to launch in April.
For its part, GSN will direct viewers of its show World Series of Blackjack and Casino Night on Mondays to AOL’s new Blackjack area on AOL. GSN will also make online and interactive TV games, including Lingo and Ballbreakers, available on AOL.
In addition, AOL is rolling out a new sweepstakes offering the chance to win a seat on GSN’s World Series of Blackjack to compete for a piece of the show’s $1 million prize.
Starting today, Blackjack fans can enter the sweepstakes at AOL.com/Blackjack to win one of eight eight-day, seven-night trips to Las Vegas where sweepstakes winners will play in a qualifying Blackjack tournament taped for AOL. Two finalists from the qualifying tournament will be among 40 players who will compete for a piece of the $1 million prize pool at the World Series of Blackjack at the Las Vegas Hilton.
The grand-prize winner gets $500,000. All 40 players will be compensated from the prize pool. AOL-selected participants will be featured on World Series of Blackjack appearing on one to four episodes based on their performance and will be profiled in player background segments. World Series of Blackjack will consist of 13 one-hour episodes that will air in June on GSN.
