Ten pecent of U.S. consumer e-commerce purchases will be transacted through devices such as wireless phones and interactive TV by 2005.

At present, 99.8% of all e-commerce purchases are made through personal computers, according to a study by market research company GartnerG2.

The U.S. market for goods and services sold through e-commerce is expected to grow from $61.8 billion this year to $227.7 billion in 2005, the report noted.

Mobile devices will be used primarily for purchasing such things as public transportation and entertainment tickets, while interactive TV will be most often used in response to TV commercials, GartnerG2 predicted.
